To adjust to the rapidly changed scenario around us, Jhatkaa.org has decided to allocate our mask inventory to protect individuals that are at high-risk and of high-interactions per day that are still working through the Covid19 pandemic– delivery agents that bring you food, medicines and other basics in life.
With the Covid19 pandemic entering our personal and professional circles we took a hard look at our Vision statement. In this process, we realized that to continue our work in building a sustainable India, while in lockdown, we had to alter our strategy slightly to fit the current unpredictable scenario.
First an acknowledgment. Air pollution, as of March 2020, still kills more far people per year than Covid19. Granted, this is likely to change in the next few months if the epidemiologists’ predictions are accurate.
Therefore we have decided to focus on a Covid19 prevention campaign to contribute to the wider efforts to reduce its damage to humanity. Therefore by reallocating our resources, we will be distributing masks to organizations that work with delivery agents that make 10+ deliveries per day.
An average delivery agent delivers between 10 to 25 parcels per day. Scale that range up to 1000 delivery agents, and that’s anywhere between 300,000 and 750,000 interactions every month. If our inventory of masks can help prevent millions of potentially risky interactions then we want to support that.
Therefore this is a shout out to any organization, that is operational during the pandemic, which makes deliveries as a part of their daily operations. We offer 1000 high-quality masks to their delivery staff. The masks have to be picked up from the residence of our colleagues living in Indiranagar and Cooke Town.
In return, we ask for your organization to share 4 posts (not stories) about the use of our masks across all your social media platforms. One of these posts have to link to our donation page where we are raising funds to buy and give out more masks for free.
If you would like to take this conversation forward please reach out to us [email protected] with the Subject Line “Masks for Covid19”
Once we receive inquiries we will weigh the options based on impact, nature of the work inquiring organization and ability to distribute the masks.
