BBMP issues penalty orders for violators!

Just a few months after we launched the #Bangaloreisburning campaign in May 2016, BBMP Joint Commissioner (Solid Waste Management and Health) Sarfaraz Khan issued a penalty orders against open garbage burning.

The order states that despite the fact that that BBMP has provided sufficient infrastructure for waste collection, the number of garbage dumps and garbage burning is increasing. Hence, penalties for irregularities and indiscipline in waste management have been issued according to the Karnataka Municipal Corporation Amendment Act 2013. This applies to not just garbage burning, but dumping of garbage as well.
