The much-awaited Nashik city bus service rolled out!

Efficient public transport is a vital part of an urban city. However, Nashik, Maharashtra didn’t have a city bus service in place. Therefore, Jhatkaa.org started campaigning for the much-needed service in early 2021. Our digital petition addressed the issue to then Guardian Minister of Nashik – Chhagan Bhujbal, Minister of Transport Anil Parab and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. We had also written and followed up with Guardian Minister Chhagan Bhujbal several times about the issue.

After a year of campaigning, The much-awaited city bus service was inaugurated by former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and district guardian minister Chhagan Bhujbal at Kalidas Kala Mandir on 8 July 2021.Our consistent follow-up with media coverage led to a victory for the people on 8 July 2021 when the bus service was rolled out with 250 buses, 200 CNG and 50 diesel buses.

Jhatkaa.org is committed to changing how citizens commute by demanding end-to-end connectivity within cities. Besides bus service, we also work on dedicated cycling tracks and cycling infrastructure-related campaigns in many other Indian cities. We work closely with local government agencies to ensure we can get the best for the city-based needs.

We constantly create innovative, interactive content for awareness and to showcase public demands. We meet elected representatives and administrative officers to ensure these issues are solved on time.
