BMTC, adopt clean practices!

Jhatkaa.org had a fruitful meeting with BMTC's Director (IT), the Chief Mechanical Engineer (M) and other departments regarding this campaign. Our campaign demands included phasing out polluting buses, formulating an emission norm policy, introducing a public redressal system for complaints and making available real time data on emission checks. Currently, all of our demands are answered to and here is their current report:
The BMTC has been phasing out their BS I, II and III old buses should be retired by end of 2022. The BMTC has additionally adopted 1200 e-buses too. Jhatkaa.org will be consistently following up on the status of diesel bus retirement and e-bus adoption.
The BMTC is following the updated emission norm policy of the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB). They have paperwork in place for the same.
BMTC has seven ways to register a complaint to them. While their call centre was in maintenance for sometime, it is back to functioning.
BMTC has also made real time data available for 16 depots online and the rest of the emission data can be accessed though their office.
