While we all went through difficult times for months fighting this pandemic, there is one community that has seen the worst and has been neglected so far – ASHA workers.

ASHA workers are not only one of the most important women-led workforces in India but are also the most crucial frontline workers fighting the pandemic in the country. And yet, many of us are unaware of the non-payment of their basic salary of ₹6,000 a month and their constant struggle with finding appropriate safety gear.

To support this workforce, we are distributing our first batch of 150 covid safety kits from today to the ASHA workers of Maharashtra. This will be essential for ASHA workers for their safety while visiting houses for surveys and as first responders to covid symptoms in any community.

Each covid safety kit contains
10 N95 masks
10 pairs of gloves
2 face shields
500 ml hand sanitiser
