We are filing RTIs!

As a part of our Campus Safety programme, we conduct workshops with college students to help them understand laws against sexual harassment in colleges. Our goal is to enable students to hold their colleges accountable and demand educational institutions that are actually conducive for learning and care about their students’ well-being, not just about their own reputation. That’s why we’re filing RTIs to see whether govt. colleges actually follow the law or not.

The Sexual Harassment of Women at the Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, Redressal) Act, 2013 and the UGC regulations 2015 mandate the presence of Internal Committees (ICs) in colleges that conduct regular gender sensitisation sessions and have 3 elected student members. But colleges often have these ICs on paper and do nothing. Our RTIs will reveal whether IITs, NITs and other govt. colleges comply in reality or wash their hands off the matter. Help us file these RTIs. There are about 513 colleges in total and each RTI costs Rs. 10. Help us file these RTIs!
